Production Worker (Abilene, TX) - Hand Assembly production of writing instruments, safety and security items. Applicant must have a good work ethic, preferrably blind or visually impaired individual. Blind criteria is described below.

Production Worker (San Angelo, TX) - Hand Assembly production of writing instruments, safety and security items. Applicant must have a good work ethic, preferrably blind or visually impaired individual. Blind criteria is described below.

Delivery Driver/Helper (San Angelo, TX) - Sort packages and print paperwork, deliver office supplies locally, and deliver supplies weekly to Abilene or Midland. Applicant must have a valid TX driver's license and good driving history of 5 years or more, have excellent attendance, and be able to lift 75 pounds.  

Sales Representative/Manager in Training (San Angelo, TX) - Responsible for increasing sales by winning new accounts and growing existing accounts across multiple sectors including federal government, education, and businesses. Applicant must be energetic, goal-oriented, and have prior sales experience. 



Blind/Visual Impairment Criteria
 

The West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind currently employs more than 40 visually impaired individuals. The vision level necessary to qualify as a blind employee in our facility is 20/200 acuity or 20º central vision or less.

Our Culture

Over the course of its 55-year history, the West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind has successfully employed blind and visually impaired individuals. The Lighthouse exists to serve people who are blind or visually impaired with job training and competitive employment.  We teach them skills which they can use here or elsewhere to support themselves and their families.  We encourage them to accept personal responsibility for their economic well being and social development.  This promotes individual independence and self-reliance.

We have various employment opportunities at the Lighthouse, which include hand assembly, clerical, packaging, sewing, imprinting, development and management areas.
